Me, again. Holding a toy gun i keep in my car.
The title says it all.

I really do keep a toy gun in my car. I won it at an AMF bowling ally, for winning tickets and junk.
I have it in my car for two reasons. 1) When I'm bored in traffic I spin it around. It's not a real looking gun. So I'm fine if people think i'm a psycho sitting in traffic.
2) It's a really design. It has that Blade Runner look and feel to it. With vents at the end of the barrel like it has to discharge hot air from shooting off rounds.
I know that sounds odd. But it really is a cool cheaply made, yet well designed unique looking gun.

Stuff!

Hey people who still follow me on here.
Um...yeah, I've really forgotten about updating on here. Sorry.
I'm still making stuff. I just post it in other sites, and when I get to posting it again in yet another site, I get really sick of adding all those f-ing tags and stuff.

So, I mean to post stuff. Yet I'm more or less, in other places rather than here.

Such as...

and...um...that's it I think?

If you like my (old) stuff here. Then check out my NEW stuff over there!

Yeah, I mean, I guess? It's a little more complicated-  I have one awesome Fashion job (Sort of PR based), I literally sit opposite the CEO who is this intelligent, vibrant 33 year old and we talk about things like "leverage" and "thought leadership" and I get paid to look and stunning fashion designs all day.  In that place even tiny things feel like massive wins for us, so it's a good life.  It is however, a tech startup, so I'm only there 2 days, and desperately trying to make myself profitable enough to add a third.

I also run an small label label with a business partner...which was doing really well, but recently...well...its a whole other story (A cautionary tale: I'll happily tell you sometime but it's far too long to write here), this means I've had to take a part time business development job in an unrelated industry...which is literally eating all of my time, nights, weekends, days I'm at the Fashion job, etc.  I feel like I'm on call 24 hours, and I can't really afford to escape it just yet.  If Sydney was just a little less expensive it would be doable and I could leave and focus the steps necessary to escape the virtual rope tying my creative hands with the label, and getting my own work out there, or even just reviving the one I currently have (circumstances pending...).  I think I ended up back here looking for a creative outlet, uploading some of my old collection images, so that I could feel like I was doing *something* creative, but I've quickly learnt it's not a platform for that kind of thing anymore...sadly I can't really go about posting the stuff anywhere else due to aforementioned virtually tied hands. #justlegalthings

But hey, I found you on Instagram!  I don't use mine for much except posting pretentious food shots and the odd selfie.  I actually super love cooking and creating my own recipes, so I try and tell myself I'm not just another tool who posts pics of their food all the time (Note: I know I'm still just another tool who posts pics of their food all the time)...although I did go and see The Room last night, so I uploaded a pic of some spoons on the cinema floor without much else to see who on my friend list got the joke.  Results so far: satisfyingly predictable (albeit small) collection of likes.

Well, are you happy with the work though?

I can tell. Trust me I feel the same way.
DevART use to be my go to for all stuff creative. Along with an outlet to post my stuff. (That's AFTER you get through all that crap with putting it in the right category)
I also had an idea of what it used to be. Yet, over the years it's changed. I was young, in high school when I got on here and used the site. My emotions where all over the place.
From life struggles, to relationships, to 'personal' issues. I'd come to DevART and post about it.
Unfortunately, this place has become filled with crap. I know art is subjective. Yet I can safely say this after seeing one too many nude photos which are pretty much thinly disguised porn posed as 'art' or use for 'Stock Use'. That DevART is just a waste land. most of my friends on here are M.I.A. Or trying to forget that they ever where on here.

It's odd, how things have changed when it comes to creative outlets. I'm on Instagram, Twitter, and Vine. All of these are fine social media tools. There is just always this element that people are trying to sell you something on there. The product is the person. Like on vine; if you're attractive it doesn't matter what you post. Just make a very obvious joke about something then People will eat it up.
Same rules apply on Instagram. Just slightly different; If you are attractive, and take a lot of photos of yourself at the gym. Then you'll be able to get to endorse a health product, (usually a powder, or tea) and bore people with how "amazing" it is.

I know that I sound jaded. I have 2 friends who use Instagram like crazy. One who does the whole 'gym selfie' thing, and is getting endorsed to post stuff and mention the product. The other, is just posting photos of expensive looking apartments, and interiors. That's it. Not his own work. Nothing original. I assume he googles 'Expensive apartments' then just saves and posts. Even his comments under the images are all the same. "Eat, Dream Big, and DIY" with a whole mess of hashtags under that. I just don't get it...
I post on Instagram. Usually stuff I make. Which are little things here and there. Not someone else's work. All my photos, or things i've worked on are mine.
I know they are not the most 'sexy' things, yet I'm fine with it.

I really could go on and on about this...just not right now. I'll shut up.

If you do need to find me on there, I'm still under the same user name as here. 'SilentHamish'.

Well, professional enough.  I get paid to do fashion and fashion related things but nowhere near enough.  Damned creative industries.

As you can probably tell from this 14-plus-days-later reply, I've gotten bored with dA again, I think the content that gets posted here is just...not the same quality of stuff I remember enjoying back in the day (read: I have no interest in looking over copious amounts of sonic/anime fan art) or maybe it's always been this terrible and I just didn't realise until now.  I'll see if I can find you on Insta and Twitter (I've recently had to get one for work and I feel like such a tool posting work things there constantly)
